Midwifery Model of Care
At Madre Midwifery we believe that excellent care is based on building a relationship of trust and reciprocity between midwife and client. Families are the primary decision makers of care, guided by their midwife’s experience and knowledge.
Madre Midwifery believes that pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period are normal physiological processes.
We believe that midwifery care is grounded in an understanding of the emotional, cultural, spiritual, and physical experiences of women and birthing person.
How Midwifery Care Works
Prenatal care is focused on building a relationship between midwife and client. Each person is offered hour long appointments, where family and children are welcome. During appointments focus is on maternal and fetal well being, nutritional counseling, herbal or homeopathic recommendations, and navigating any questions or topics clients may have.
Each client is offered standardized care including labs, ultrasound referrals, and standard testing.

From 37 weeks on clients have 24/7 on call availability provided including phone support, triage, and a complete team to support at the client’s home during labor and birth.
When in active labor the team will arrive and stay with the laboring client as a support system through delivery and immediate postpartum.

Meet your Midwife
Danielle Wright LM, CPM
Dani began her journey to midwifery shortly after the homebirth of her first child in 2009 and officially began an apprenticeship utilizing the Professional Evaluation Process outlined by the North American Registry of Midwives in 2014. She is now a Certified Professional Midwife licensed by the Virginia Board of Medicine.
It is Dani’s goal to support our local community in more than just midwifery, but create community connection with families at the center.
Pregnancy, birth, and motherhood have had such a positive impact in all aspects of Dani’s life. This phase allowed her to embrace her culture and bloom into the woman she is today. Dani remains grateful for her own births with midwives at home, that watered the seed of midwifery.
Dani has four children and raising them is an honor. Her family has a small homestead lovingly dubbed The Hopeful Homestead. Where they homeschool, raise small livestock, grow an abundance of food, and always find time for family.
“Whenever and however you give birth, your experience will impact your emotions, your mind, your body and your spirit for the rest of your life.”
